There are also several footbridges that cross over the Kephart Prong stream, adding to the picturesque scenery.</p><p>At the beginning of the trail, hikers an explore the historic CCC Camp. &nbsp;The CCC were responsible for building most of the park, and the camp here was one of many throughout the park during its construction and creation.</p><p>One of the highlights of the hike is the Kephart Shelter, which is located about 2.5 miles into the trail. The shelter is a historic log cabin that was built in the 1930s and is available for hikers to use as a rest stop or overnight stay. There are also several campsites in the area, making it a great spot for backpackers.</p><p>The trail continues past the shelter and eventually reaches the Appalachian Trail.&nbsp;</p><p>Overall, Kephart Prong Trail is a beautiful hike that offers a great combination of scenery, history, and wildlife. The trailhead is located off of US Highway 19 and is marked with a small sign for Soco Falls.</p><p>The parking area is small, and only accommodates about 10 cars at most.</p><p>The hike itself is a short, quarter-mile trek on a fairly well-maintained trail that leads visitors to the stunning Soco Falls overlook. This is a wooden deck that provides a really nice view of the falls from slightly above.&nbsp; Along the way, hikers will encounter beautiful views of the surrounding forest and streams.</p><p>Once at the falls, visitors can enjoy the sight and sound of the two-tiered waterfall that plunges into a deep pool below. The hike is about a mile round trip and takes visitors through a beautiful forest filled with rhododendrons, ferns, and wildflowers. The trail is relatively flat, but there are a few spots where visitors will need to climb over rocks and primitive bridges. &nbsp;The descent down to the falls at the end is steep.&nbsp;</p><p>The waterfall drops about 45 feet from the top and creating a beautiful pool at the bottom. It is tucked away in a remote area of the forest not as heavily trafficked as some of the other waterfalls in the area, due to it being so remote.</p><p>Your adventure to Dill Falls begins with a long drive down a rough forest service road which will end in a round parking area at the trailhead. &nbsp; The drive will take your through dense forest and past camping areas.&nbsp; </p><p>The trail to Dill Falls is easy with a slight incline down to the falls. &nbsp;The trail is a straight shot from the parking area, and easy to follow, an d about 1-mile roundtrip.&nbsp;</p><p>Dill Falls cascades down a steep cliff for a total height of approximately 150 feet, making it one of the tallest waterfalls in the area.&nbsp;</p></div><div class="thrv_wrapper thrv-google-map-embedded-code tve-flexible-container" data-css="tve-u-1871411376b">

There are benches and resting areas on the stairs for those that need a break.</p><p>Mingo Falls drop over 120 feet into a pool below, making it one of the tallest waterfalls in the area. The parking area for the trailhead is roadside off Highway 276 between the the Blue Ridge Parkway and Brevard NC. &nbsp;The parking area and trailhead is 45 minutes from Waynesville.</p><p>As you begin the easy to moderate hike to the Moore Cove Falls, you'll be surrounded by lush greenery and the soothing sounds of nature. Upon reaching the falls, you'll love how the water gracefully cascading over the rocks and into the shimmering pool below.&nbsp;</p><p>There is a small viewing platform, and you can also walk directly up the falls, under it, and even behind it. &nbsp; The ability to approach the falls so closely makes this a unique experience for visitors.</p></div><div class="thrv_wrapper thrv-google-map-embedded-code tve-flexible-container" data-css="tve-u-1871429c559">
